Introduction

On any given Sunday, Callander town centre is crawling with day trippers window shopping and visiting the coffee shops. Little do they know that a few miles away is an easy stroll to Bracklinn Falls.

This really is a pleasant Sunday afternoon stroll through some mixed woodland leading to some quite spectacular waterfalls.

There are a variety of pathways which are all well maintained. The Scottish Woodland Trust have provided a good display of different routes at the main parking areas.

Route

• To get to the starting point carpark, take the signs to Callander Golf Course and Bracklinn Falls soon after going into Callander. Follow the road upwards until you see the carpark with the sign for the falls.

• Once you're at the carpark simply choose your route from the mounted map. The main pathway leads straight to the falls; but there are plenty of other options to explore..... coffee shops not included.

  This is a worthwhile trip and is suited to all age groups..... we even saw a couple of lesser spotted toddlers.
