(Par 4). The first hole of more than 400 years must be, without
doubt, the most spectacular yet one of the most daunting holes in
the game of golf. Standing on the tee you have the wild, untamed
Irish sea on your left and the rolling hills of Kintyre on your
right. Unfortunately to put you tee shot on the fairway you have
to manoeveur your ball over the sea or, if the tide's out, you have
the sandy beach to contend with. |

(Par 5). Normally you would expect to reach most par 5s in a drive,
fairway wood then a relatively short iron, but not this one. With
the wind almost always in your face, you can expect to play at least
a 4 or 5 iron for you approach shot. |
